Clinical outcomes

Psychometric evidence for clinical outcome assessments.

I provide psychometric analysis and validation for patient-reported and clinician-reported outcome measures, bringing measurement methods proven in high-stakes testing to the instruments that support clinical endpoints.

Who I work with

  • CROs and outcomes research firms that need senior psychometric capacity
  • Pharmaceutical and biotech sponsors developing or adapting COAs
  • Academic teams developing and validating new instruments

What I do

  • Psychometric analysis plans. The psychometric sections of analysis plans, written before the data arrive.
  • Item and scale analysis. Classical and item response theory (IRT/Rasch) analyses, item reduction, and short-form development.
  • Dimensionality and structure. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, with clear reasoning about which one the evidence calls for.
  • Reliability and validity. Internal consistency, test-retest, construct validity, and known-groups evidence.
  • Measurement invariance and DIF. Evidence that an instrument works the same way across subgroups, languages, and cultures.
  • Validity argument and reporting. Clear write-ups of what the evidence supports, for internal teams, publications, and regulatory dossiers.
